The Board of Trustees is composed of founding members of the National Peace Movement who have committed to transitioning the movement into its permanent phase with its new identity and framework, in accordance with the requirements of the transitional phase announced on June 2, 2024. The Board of Trustees is the primary authority responsible for supporting the movement both internally and externally, setting strategic policies and high-level decisions that guide the movement’s work and ensure the success of its various components.

Responsibilities
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the following key functions:
- Developing strategic plans to achieve the movement’s goals, while periodically monitoring and evaluating these plans in response to developments at the local, regional, and international levels.
- Overseeing the performance of the movement’s executive bodies, including working teams, geographical branch heads, specialized track leaders, and the administrative unit, through direct communication with the Executive Council.
- Coordinating with the Council of Elders and exchanging perspectives to enhance performance and ensure integration among the movement’s various components and geographical branches.
- Issuing official statements on behalf of the movement and representing it before external entities.
- Engaging with national, regional, and international bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations, in coordination with the Executive Council, to secure support for the movement, exchange expertise, and build partnerships to advance peace and reconciliation efforts.
- Approving any formal partnerships, agreements, or collaborations with external partners.
- Ratifying active memberships and internal regulations in coordination with the Executive Council.
- Approving the appointment of Executive Council members and its leadership.
- Calling for general meetings for active or affiliated members, whether on an annual or emergency basis.
Special Provisions
- The Board of Trustees follows a horizontal leadership model and appoints a General Coordinator and a Rapporteur, who are selected periodically by its members in accordance with the internal regulations governing the board’s operations.
- The Board of Trustees holds intellectual and legal authority over the movement, with the right to amend the bylaws with the approval of two-thirds of its members.
- The Board of Trustees is the sole authority responsible for issuing official statements on behalf of the movement.
- The Board represents the movement in various forums and has the authority to designate representatives from among the members or components of the movement for this purpose.
- The Board’s decisions are binding and enforceable for all components of the movement. In case of disputes that cannot be resolved by the Executive Council or the administrative body, the Board of Trustees has the final authority, and its decisions are considered binding and conclusive.
